Low Light Level Uniform Light Source
The 'star light' uniform light source with precisely adjustable, low light level radianceThe Labsphere USS-1200V-LL is a very low light level uniform source that provides for spectral irradiance levels equivalent to an m=0 star in the UV, VIS & NIR bands. With a lit area of 4 inches and light levels precisely adjustable over 8 decades within 7 spectral bands, the USS-1200V-LL is perfect for calibrating optical sensors. The USS-1200V-LL is based upon a 12 inch integrating sphere with illumination provided by an external 75 Watt tungsten halogen lamp coupled into the main sphere via a 3 inch satellite sphere. This provides for fine adjustment and precise control of the radiance from the main sphere, which is calibrated in phot/s.m2. Light from the satellite sphere passes through a variable attenuator and a two-part filter system; a filter wheel contains bandpass filters to select the waveband of the source, while neutral density filters control the radiance level. Two different detectors are installed on the sphere, silicon for wavelengths up to 1100nm and InGaAs for the near infrared band. Each detector is connected to an SC-6000 radiometer which displays the light level within the chosen spectral band emanating from the sphere. Specifications & System Configurations
