Spectralon 

Diffuse Reflectance Coating Service

Together with our partners at Labsphere, we offer a range of diffuse reflectance coatings for use in the ultraviolet, visible, and infrared regions. Our services range from the coating of customer-supplied parts to the design, fabrication, and testing of complete components. We offer three coating options:

  • Spectraflect® - a white coating for the 300-2400nm range, applied by spraying.
  • Duraflect® - a waterproof white coating for the 350-1200nm range, applied by spraying.
  • InfraGold® - an electroplated gold coating for the 0.7-20µm range.

Spectraflect® is only sold as a coating service; Labsphere 6080 white reflectance coating is available to those who wish to undertake their own, small scale coating in-house. Duraflect® and InfraGold® are only available as coating services.

We provide coating services for single components as well as OEM needs. Labsphere’s proprietary coating processes include surface preparation, masking, coating, and testing to desired reflectance specifications. Coatings are applied in a dedicated coating facility by highly trained, certified coating technicians.

Spectralon Laser Cavity 

Laser Pump Chamber Reflector Fabrication Service

Spectralon® is the perfect choice of material for use as a pump chamber reflector in diode and lamp pumped solid state lasers and lamp pumped dye lasers. Spectralon exhibits diffuse, high reflectance at the pump wavelengths of these lasers leading to increased slope efficiencies, higher energies, increased gain uniformity, improved beam quality and reduced risk of parasitic oscillations. Spectralon is thermally stable and easily machined into bespoke reflectors.

Reflector Fabrication Service

Spectralon® is Labsphere's patented and award-winning diffuse reflectance material. Spectralon is a solid thermoplastic that exhibits the highest diffuse reflectance of any material or coating, up to 95% from 250-2500nm, and 99% from 400-1500nm. Spectralon is thermally stable, UV-resistant and inert to almost any chemical, properties which make Spectralon the ideal choice for use in applications as diverse as integrating spheres, laser cavity pumping chambers, reflectance standards and targets, lamp reflectors, display backpanel lighting and digital imaging devices.
