ProMetric™ Software
Overview
ProMetric™ software provides a simple, user-friendly interface for the control, data acquisition and image analysis of Radiant Imaging's ProMetric™ series of CCD imaging photometers and colorimeters. ProMetric software is supplied as standard with all of our cameras and the current release can be purchased separately as an upgrade by users of existing cameras. Current users who hold a valid software licence may upgrade at no additional cost. The software simplifies and automates routine tasks such as setting exposure times, performing calibrations and reporting the luminance, chromaticity, colour temperature or dominant wavelength of user-defined points-of-interest. Its powerful, built-in analysis tools include luminance and colour analysis, defect and Mura detection, simplified pass/fail reporting and multiple graphing and report capabilities.
The software also supports fully automated, pre-programmed operation. This enables production-line personnel to perform sophisticated measurements and tests. However, built-in support for .NET and ActiveX controls allow the experienced user almost unlimited scope to develop customised applications and to perform automated testing using software such as VB.NET, C#, VC++.NET, LabView and Matlab. Radiant Imaging is also happy to undertake custom software development on request.

Capabilities
ProMetric CCD camera systems can record between 250,000 and 16 million measurement spots (CCD sensor dependent) in seconds. Captured images comprise a 2D bitmap scaled for absolute luminance (or illuminance, luminous intensity) and colour. Depending upon the calibrations specified, measurement parameters include:
- Luminance
- Illuminance
- Luminous intensity
- Total luminous flux
- Radiance
- Irradiance
- Radiant Intensity
- Total radiant flux
- CIE chromaticity coordinates (xy, u'v')
- CIELAB chromaticity coordinates (L*a*b*)
- Correlated colour temperature (CCT)

- Colour luminance difference

Latest Software News: ProMetric™ 9.1 Released
October 25th 2007: PM 9.1 has been released and is available for download. Existing users with a current software suport licence may upgrade free of charge. The software can also be run in a demo mode. The ProMetric™ 9.1 release provides new features, improved efficiency and enhanced ease of use. Amoung the many new features are:
- Automated defect analysis tools to identify mura, bright and dark pixels, and line defects
- Report CIELAB chromaticity (L*a*b* colour space)
- Faster colour measurements
- Dominant wavelength reported in the measurement bitmap
- Tabbed windows that enhance the user interface
- Support for a fourth (CIE XB) filter to improve the colorimetric measurement accuracy of LC displays and LEDs
