Konica Minolta T-10 Illuminance Photometer
An affordable, portable & simple-to-use "lux" meterThe T-10 from Konica Minolta is an affordable, portable photometer for measuring the illuminance of light sources in lux (or foot candles, where 1 fcd = 1 lumen per square foot = 10.764 lux). Don't confuse affordability with low specification, though. Unlike many other inexpensive lux meters, the T-10 is equipped with advanced features which promote measurement accuracy and ease of use. The spectral response of the T-10's silicon photodiode is matched to within 8% of the CIE standard observer function for photopic vision using special filters, while a cosine diffuser ensures that the effective illuminance from off-axis sources is scaled correctly. The T-10 provides measurements over 5 decades, from 0.01 to 299,900 lux. In nature, illuminance typically ranges from about 0.01 lux on a dark night of a new moon to about 100,000 lux on a hot summer day. Workplace illumination is normally around 1000 lux. Flexible & ConvenientThe T-10 conveniently allows you to separate the sensor head from the main body of the meter. This allows you to hold the sensor towards the light source whilst standing to one side and reading the light level. To use the T-10 in this way, you will need to order a couple of optional accessories (T-A20 receptor unit for the main body and the T-A21 receptor unit for the sensor head with 1m LAN cable). If you need to measure illuminance and access is restricted, the T-10M is for you. Essentially similar to the regular T-10, the T-10M employs a compact (14mm diameter) sensor head connected to the T-10 main body via a 1m cable. Many Advanced FeaturesBasic operation of the T-10 gives you readings of the illuminance in lux (or you can select foot candles if you prefer), as well as the illuminance difference and illuminance ratio. You can also measure the illuminance integrated over time and the average illuminance. Advanced operation allows you to set a reference reading and enter colour correction factors specific to the type of light source under test. The T-10 features as standard an RS232 serial interface (software is optional) and an analogue output (subminiature jack plug included) to log the measured illuminance to a recording device. Zero adjustment is automatic, while you can either leave the meter to set its own range automatically or choose your preferred range manually. The LCD display features a backlight that turns on automatically under low ambient illumination. The T-10 operates as standard from AA-size batteries, while an AC mains adaptor is available as an accessory. Specifications & Ordering Information
